Gods Own Country

Over 8 days, we undergo cultural immersion across Kerala. The highlights include exploring the streets of Kochi including the Dutch, Portuguese and Jewish quarters. We ride a boat through canals of Kumbalangy where the experience includes fishing, crab farm visit, coir yarn making, weaving of coconut leaves, Chinese fishing nets and culminates with lunch. We also spend a night on a houseboat on the famed backwaters for a life time of memories. The experience includes wildlife safari in Periyar Tiger reserve and the scenic hill station of Munnar.

Kathakali performance

Kathakali is a dance drama which originated in the 17th century. Dancers get a fantastic makeup and then tell a story, often from the epic Ramayana, through their dance. You will get to see the elaborate make up preparation as well as the main performance of the dancers.

Kerala Folklore Museum

Folklore Museum specializes in architecture and ethnography. It is a treasure trove of stone, wood and bronze sculptures, ancient terracotta, Stone Age objects, jewelry, paintings, oil lamps, musical instruments, tribal and folk art, wood works, utensils, masks and traditional art forms etc. The folklore theatre also features traditional art performances.

Jew town & Paradesi Synagogue

We walk to the famous Jew town and explore Paradesi Synagogue, the oldest Synagogue in commonwealth nations. It was built in 1568 by Sephardic Jews , who were exiled from Spain and Portugal and had settled in Kochi to become prosperous traders. The Synagogue will be closed on Fridays and Saturdays.

Mattancherry Palace

Built by the Portuguese in 1557 and presented to Raja Veera Kerala Varma of Kochi, the Palace was renovated in 1663 by the Dutch. The palace with a Bhagavathi Temple in the central courtyard is built like the typical Kerala style mansion - the Nalukettu - the home of the aristocracy, nobility and upper classes, with four separate wings opening out to a central courtyard.

Houseboat Experience

The houseboat experience on the backwaters of Kerala commences in Alleppey. We start cruising through the lakes; enjoy the panoramic views and the glimpses of the life along the banks. We also visit a historic church. All meals are organized in the house boat itself. We anchor at night in the backwaters.

Chinese Fishing Nets

A walk to the Chinese Fishing nets is part of the itinerary in Kochi.

Munnar

Top Station, the highest point (1700m) in Munnar provides Panoramic views of Western Ghats . We visit the Tea Museum which has a miniature tea factory attached to it where visitors are expertly familiarized with the nuances of tea cultivation and processing as well as tea tasting. Guests will get to learn about the evolution of the town, the tea estates and the various aspects of the life of tea estate workers

Kumbalangy village

We will visit a unique fishing village called Kumbalangy. For the next 4 hours we will ride a country boat and wade through the back waters and experience the village life. The experience includes fishing, crab farm visit, coir yarn making, weaving of coconut leaves, Chinese fishing nets and culminates with lunch.

Periyar Wildlife

Periyar Wildlife Reserve is a thick evergreen forest and is both a Tiger and an Elephant Sanctuary. We take a boat cruise to the dam catchment area for wildlife sighting in their natural habitat. Animals that can be spotted would be elephants, bison, foxes, wild dogs, hornbill and many others.
