Magic of Varanasi

In this Varanasi tour, we experience the cultural heritage of 3000 years by visiting Sarnath where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon after attaining enlightenment, Chaukhandi Stupa a shrine for the relic of Buddha, murals and frescoes of the Buddhist temple of Mulagandha Kuti Vihar, the spectacular Ganga Aarti on the river Ganges, a boat ride through the history of this ancient city, Kashi Vishwanath temple and the streets of Kashi.

Varanasi is a city of a thousand temples. We will visit a temple during our street walk to get an authentic experience of a live temple. It will be a mesmerizing experience to see 5000 year old traditions alive! Our guide will put in perspective, the role of temple in the society and why it continues to play an important role in the daily lives of Indians.
Prayer on the Ganges
In the evening we will come to the banks of the Ganges, the holiest of all rivers in India. We will witness one of the most spectacular ceremonies. In this grand spectacle, thousands of pilgrims pray to the river goddess. The prayer ceremony includes incense sticks, lamps and fire
Bodhi Tree
Mulagandha Kuti Vihar is a relatively new Buddhist temple. The highlight of this temple is its murals and frescoes. It stands as a contrast to the ruins of ancient Sarnath all around it. An interesting aspect of this temple complex is a Bodhi tree, which is supposedly a descendant of the tree beneath which Lord Buddha achieved enlightenment.
Banaras Hindu University

Sarnath
We will visit Sarnath, the most famous pilgrimage for Buddhists in India. Lord Buddha gave his first sermon here after attaining enlightenment in the year 528 BC. Dhamek Stupa is the most impressive structure here in Sarnath. The Stupa commemorates the first discourse of the Buddha which was on the ‘Wheel of Law’.
