Explore magnificent ruins of monasteries, temples and lecture halls which evoke the grandeur of this ancient institution, which once housed over 10,000 students and 2,000 teachers. The other highlight is Rajgir, which was the first capital of the powerful Magadha kingdom for many centuries .
Nalanda University
Nalanda University was a world-renowned centre of learning that was located in present-day Bihar. It was founded in the 5th century CE and became one of the most renowned universities in the world, attracting scholars from all over India, China, Tibet, Persia, and other parts of Asia.
Rajgir
Rajgir is famous for monuments related to Buddhism and Jainism. Both lord Buddha and Lord Mahavir have spent time here. We will visit Swarna Gufa, Griddhakuta Parvat,Vishwa Shanti Stupa, Sapataprani cave, Bimbisar Jail and Ajatsatru Fort which have significance for both Buddhism and Jainism.
